A workshop that never became a factory
verrah began above a fabric shop in Mumbai with five goldsmiths and one bench. They took work nobody else wanted — repairs, resizes, a broken clasp — and did it well enough that people started asking what else they could make.
Thirty years on there are a hundred and twenty pairs of hands instead of five, and the bench has moved twice. What has not changed is who decides when a piece is finished. It is still the person who made it, still working to the same unreasonable standard, still sending roughly one piece in twenty back for another day's work.
We are not the cheapest jeweller in the city and we have never tried to be. We would rather you bought one thing you keep than three you replace.
Four things we will not trade
Every one of these costs us something. That is rather the point — they are only worth stating if they are inconvenient.
Made by hand, still
Every piece is drawn, cast, set and finished by a person whose name we know. Machines help; they do not decide.

Conflict-free stones with paperwork you can verify, and recycled gold wherever the karat allows it.
